Interview with Kendra Kay

First off, for those who might not know you, what's your name and please describe yourself?

Well, my stage name is Kendra Kay and I am a Greek girl. I'm 5'7", 127 pounds. I've got brown eyes and am naturally a brunette but I like to color my hair more red sometimes. I just turned 21! So now I can finally drink. I'm from the New England area but would love to move to LA, I really like palm trees.

How did you first get into the adult industry?

I have always been interested in things like stripping and porn ever since I read Jenna Jameson's book. I was planning on visiting my boyfriend this last summer who lives in LA. He asked me if I would be interested in making some money doing porn. So we talked about it and checked things out for like 3 months, then picked an agent and I went to work for 3 weeks and did 12 shoots. I was in school before hand and still am.

What made you interested in entering the adult industry?

Well, in addition to Jenna's book I guess I like to do things that are a little crazy, things most other people wouldn't do. Plus I really like sex and I really like making money, so it was a perfect opportunity.

How long have you been in the industry?

Since June. I haven't done much other work, but last week I started shooting some of my own content and will be doing more of that over the next couple of months. Then this summer I will be back in LA.

You are fairly new to the industry, just joining this past summer. How has your experience in the industry been so far?

I really had a great time, everyone I met and worked with in the industry was wicked cool. I guess I was lucky that I didn't have any bad experiences, the worst thing that happened was that I got strep throat and missed a shoot with Red Light, and it was a b/g/g and I really wanted to work with a girl! I was mad. I almost went to the shoot anyway but my boyfriend wouldn't let me because I had a fever. One thing really struck me was how casual everyone was about the whole sex thing. I wasn't used to that, and it helped me see this whole thing as a business.

Are there any people in the industry that you would love to work with but haven't had a chance to yet? If so who are they?

I'd like to do some bondage stuff, the nice people at DungeonCorp have offered to let me work for them. I'd love to do some girl stuff with Dana DeArmond or Natasha Nice, I worked with Natasha at Erotica LA. Kevin Ducati seems really nice too, and Rob Rotten is funny as hell. Oh, and Don Fernando is just a sweetheart. I would really like to work with Milo Janus too, and I have heard good things about Michael Ninn. Geez, the list just gets bigger the more I think about it, so I will stop thinking.

Who are your favorite people to work with?

Brandon Iron was the best, really nice guy. I actually enjoyed having sex with him. Dave Cummings was very cool. Renae at New Sensations was great, a no-fucking-nonsense woman, I really liked her. Dion at Combat Zone was very honest and straight forward, really sweet guy. Dick Nasty and Rod Fontana were fun to work with. So was Billy Banks even though he didn't let my boyfriend stay on set, which I didn't like. Matt from Pink Visual was a nice guy too.

How would you like to see your career progress in the future?

Well, I will do some more professional work this summer, but what I really want to do is create a small community of people who really like me and the work I do and make content just for them. I want to introduce a couple of girlfriends to them as well. My ex-boyfriend calls it porn 2.0, more than just offering content but making a personal connection with guys and girls who are into what I am doing. I hope it works because I need to pay my tuition!

Do your friends and family know that you are in the industry, if they do they support your decision?

A lot of my friends at school know about it and no one has said anything bad, a couple guys think it is wicked cool that they know a pornstar. I just broke up with a guy who said he was okay with it but kept making me feel like shit about it, so off with his head! My family doesn't know, well, my mom kind of knows but she doesn't want to really talk about it. She just said that she loves me no matter what I do, she is a great mom.

What sort of things were you interested in when you were younger?

Boys. Oh my God, thinking back I was seriously crazy about sex. I did some crazy things, I guess even dangerous things like meeting guys from the internet, shit like that. Silly me. Other than that I used to sing semi-professionally, I did some modeling, even went to LA! I liked hanging out with my friends of course, I traveled a lot when I was younger, went to Europe a few times. To be honest I was kind of a loner, still am.

What personality trait or traits would your friends say best described you as a young girl? Also please explain you answer.

I guess the same things people say about me now, that I am a little different. I'm into cute things like Hello Kitty and the Cookie Monster. So the first impression people usually have of me is that I am dumb, but I don't mind that, it filters out dumb people who make shallow judgments. I have very few close friends.

What are some of the qualities or traits you look for in a significant other?

Someone who understand life like I do, who knows what it is like to live one way in your mind and another way in the outside world. Some one who is self aware and honest about themselves and how they are. Someone who gets me and can put up with me being a wicked bitch at times.

Share a silly, stupid, funny or embarrassing story that happened recently that you can share with out fans.

My ex-boyfriend teases me constantly about this one. When I was driving through LA with him I saw the Staples Center and said, "Wow, you guys really have a big Staples store!" Not one of my better moments.

Are there any projects or special event coming up that you would like to promote, if so please do so?
